The Rudder boys basketball team beat Hempstead 52-43 in the semifinals and lost to Galveston Ball 61-53 in overtime in the championship game of the Madisonville tournament Saturday.

Carlos Moreno had 20 points, and Grayson Adams had 15 to lead Rudder (6-13) in the semifinal victory.

In the championship game, Moreno had 12 and Kentun King 10 for the Rangers.

Rudder will host Leander Rouse in nondistrict play at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Armory.
