The Rudder volleyball team lost to Mabank 25-23, 25-21 then beat Harmony 22-25, 25-17, 25-22 and Tyler John Tyler 25-19, 22-25, 25-23 to win its pool at the Tyler Invitational on Thursday.
Madison Johnson helped lead Rudder (14-9) with 24 kills and 10 digs over the three matches. Asani McGee had 22 kills and five blocks; Taylor Baker 19 kills, 29 digs; Kaylee Herd 14 kills, 70 assists, 18 digs, four aces; Gracie Menchaca 41 digs, five aces; and Makenna Muth 26 digs.
Rudder will continue tournament play Friday.
